Ted's Treasures

So there are several different titles I contemplated for this blog, and while I do like Ted's Treasures, I don't want the others to be wasted, so I will share them also: The Rest of the Story (ya know like Paul Harvey), Lesssons From a Mouse, or The Little Things.

Ted has not been seen or heard from for 5 nights now. This is a true blessing and answer to prayer. Thanks for all those who took the time to pray for this little situation. Our conclusion is that Ted ran out the back door when it was slightly ajar as it has not been seen since then. Now there were a couple nights I thought I heard him, but I was also half asleep and haven't 'heard' him for 3 nights. While this conclusion isn't the most likely scenario, it is possible, so that's what we're going with.

Now here's a story about the clean up. I have renamed the mouse droppings to Ted's Treasures, it sounds nicer. Anyways, there were lots of treasures left by Ted and so on Tuesday night I embarked on the mission to clean them all up. Now let's just say there was a lot of Cloroxing that happened that night. And my eyes were honing in on these little black treasures. So I got them all cleaned up and sat down, I also happened to look down and saw a little black spot on one of my toes. For an instant I was grossed out and couldn't believe I had gotten it on me. Then I remembered that was the toe I rammed into the box springs and had a small blood blister on. And so no treasures on me thankfully.

And now for the lessons I learned from this ordeal. First, I learned that I can't let something so small run my life. While we thought this mouse was out and about we let it run the house, and that was so chaotic and exhausting. Second, God answers prayer! As mentioned before I know I was very consumed by this mouse and knew God had to give me peace and patience to deal with it. And He did. Third, it's amazing how you can live with something until you know it's there. Ted had to have been in the house for about a week until we knew for sure he was here. That means we lived with Ted with no worries cuz weren't fully aware of the situation. Crazy. How often in life do we just think things are ok and then we become aware of the real situation? But whatever the case, the Truth remains and God is in control.
