Last Resort

My lack of faith has really come to light in my life recently. I so often forget the life changing power of prayer. So it only makes sense that if prayer can change a life, which is big, that it can change a a situation in life, which is seemingly small. And because of this attitude, this lack of appreciation in my life, I use prayer as a last resort. However, I don't believe this is what God intended prayer for. It should be how I stay connected with and maintain my relationship with my Savior. But no, as with most things, I abuse this awesome privilege I have been granted.  Regardless, God still heard me and helped me out.

Here's what happened...If you're familiar with the business side of the medical world this will all make perfect sense, if not, bear with me and you'll see the point in the end. I am in charge of making sure that the Hipaa 5010 stuff is all ready for the beginning of the year. For the past several weeks I tried through e-mail and phone calls to get in touch with the software company to see if the update was ready. No response. And so I happened to leave work early on a Friday to enjoy some time with my family for my birthday. As the weekend wound down it occurred to me that I should pray about this work situation. And so I did. I went back to work on Monday and found a note on my desk that the software company had called just after I left on Friday.  I was surprised that they had finally called back.  But also amazed at how God had answered my prayer before I even said it. Wow, what an awesome God I serve.

To finish the story within the week I had talked to the person to get things squared away several times on the phone and through e-mail to figure out what our office needed to do. And we're well on our way to being compliant. Thank the Lord.

Noni Fun Fact: I am so thankful to be at a job that I enjoy and challenges me.
