Bringin' it Back

Ok, so maybe it was never there or never gone, either way there are some words I am trying to incorporate into my everyday life. By everyday I mean at least once a day. These words, in my opinion, are quite splendid and should be used as much as possible. I believe they will bring about the use of some humdingers in an epic way. And then things will be stellar.

And so if you haven't caught on yet there are four of these words and they happen to be: epic. stellar. splendid. humdinger.

Now, one might think, "Hey no big deal, those can easily be used in everyday life." But this is not so. I often forget to use them or am not in situations where they are applicable. If the latter happens then I am stuck and say things like I did in the first paragraph just trying in any way to meet my self imposed quota. If the former, well, I think that explains itself.

Surprisingly the word I seem to incorporate into my daily life is stellar. It just comes out so easily and naturally. And in order for you to understand this the best imagine me actually saying the words, which in itself should make you smile, because you can imagine the situations I use them in.

I hope you have been inspired to come up with some humdingers yourself and will starting using them in your life.

Noni Fun Fact: I enjoy people watching at coffee shops in the middle of the day.

Tales of VBS

This week I have been helping out with Vacation Bible School at my church. I love this week every year, it is full of fun and energy (from the kids any way) and laughter and Jesus. It really doesn't get much better. But I must confess because I not accustomed to being around kids 5 nights in a row it completely wears me out. But I do love it. So here are some tales from the first 3 nights. Enjoy, and feel free to laugh.

For those of you that know me at all, you know I am a KU fan. Jayhawks all the way, and because of this I do not like purple, at all. Living in Manhattan I have gotten used to seeing it, but still don't really like it. I walk in the first night and they tell me I will be leading a group of kindergarteners and our color is purple. So every night this week I am sporting a purple shirt that has our theme on it: Zapped. Yes, I love Jesus and will wear purple for him, even 5 nights in a row.

On night 2 a girl was really excited to tell us leaders a story, it went like this: I have a true story to tell you. It's really true, and kind of silly. This morning, this morning. This morning. And so I interrupted and asked when it happened, and she replied this morning. And the story continues. I ate. I ate a (insert little kid cracking themselves up) poptart. Followed by the kid the laughing at herself.

I was giving another leader a hard time and one of the kids looks at me dead serious and says "Tay appention!" I said ok.

Our theme is Zapped and about Peter's life. So the first night was about Jesus calling Peter to be a fisher of man. So they told the kids Peter was zapped by God. During story time the leader asked what the story was about. One kids said God shocked Peter. And so the kids putting two and two together got from the story that Peter got shocked by God. Pretty close to being zapped.

Well that's all I can think of for now.
