Another week in the Life of Noni

One exciting thing I did this week was drop a full jar of salsa on my left big toe. Let's just say it did not feel the best, but luckily the jar did not break and I was able to still eat the salsa.

I had the most tense drive home yesterday I've ever had, people driving like they didn't know how, it was snowing and took me over an hour to get home, usually a 20 minute drive. But the part I enjoy most about those situations is that I get the chance to belt out God's praises as I drive. Also makes me pray because I know I cannot control those other drivers, it's up to Him to keep me safe. And He did! But I do love the snow, it's so peaceful.

I also got the trigger point on my right shoulder released, felt amazing. And so for the rest of the night I did everything left-handed to keep it from coming back. And brought me once again to realizing I need to work on my ambidextricity. However, just as I expected that dumb trigger point came back after using my right arm again, but still awesome for it to go away for awhile.

Jesus. Just Jesus.

That was the point of Brian's sermon this morning. The message of the gospel, the love of God is Jesus. God in human form to pay the ultimate sacrifice. This really hit me this morning, the freedom this brings. There is nothing I can do, should do, or will ever be able to do that can affect my salvation apart from accepting the free gift of love from God. It never has been or ever will be Jesus plus anything. Just Jesus.
As I'm reading through the Bible this year, I'm currently in the book of Leviticus and it's all about sacrifices. Making the right offering for the right purpose, and making sure it's offered correctly. So many rules for the Old Testament people to follow. And now I don't have to worry about any of that because of the blood of the Lamb. How thankful I should be for that.

So today I am thankful for the freedom Jesus brought to me. Freedom from this world, freedom from sin, freedom from my actions, and all because of love.

too much caffeine

Well in the course of probably 3 hours today I drank 2 pops and then had some Starbucks. I'm definitely not used to that much caffeine. But it made me extra creative and energeticand I made 2 cards and a double page spread. It's been a long since i've actually scrapped and I realized how much I miss it. Definitely something I'll be doing more of in the weeks to come.

But now I'm coming off of that caffeine rush and am about to crash.

Noni Fun Fact: My favorite drink from Starbucks is the white chocolate mocha. Delish.

I like February

Not only have I realized how much I like this month but I've learned to spell February pretty well too, which I'm pretty excited about also.

So here's why I like this month so far.

-I handled a stressful situation well. Last week I had frozen pipes at the trailer. And I am thankful to the two guys who came out in the freezing temperatures to fix my heat tape. Through this I learned when it's really cold out I have to open the cabinets under my sinks and turn up the temp in my house. Also as I was dealing with this I kept praying and trusting in God's promise that He would never give me more than I could handle. It's awesome to experience God holding true to His promises.

-I also broke into the smart phone wolrd and am loving it. So many games to conquer and ways to be connected, just need to get a case so I don't end up breaking it.

-I went to a Big 12 game. K-State vs. Nebraska. Some of my buddies from college came to town and had an extra ticket. It was a good time. Also if Old Chicago drops your pizza when they're taking it out of the oven you get a new one made and they give it to ya for half price.

-I experienced my first hockey game, minor leagues, but still fun. There were 6 fights, and the teams had some pretty dedicated fans. I definitely want to go to another game. Go Roadrunners!

-I did not watch the SuperBowl, but I'm glad the Packers won.

And so I'm liking the way February started.

Noni Fun Fact: My favorite NFL teams are the Chiefs and the Colts.

priorities

Lots of things have come to mind for me to share from this week. Such as how I got a new phone, went to a K-State basketball game with some biddies from college, how I dealt with frozen pipes, or made chicken biscuits for the first time in probably over a year.
Instead I wanna share about priorities. I always seem to say I want to make time for God, make Him my reason for living. And then I don't do it, not even close. For instance I will stay up late to be with friends but not to be with God, or if I do I'm so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. This is so backwards of me to do. It's not God who is lucky I spend time with Him, it's me who is so blessed that such an awesome God would want to spend time with me. How foolish I am, and yet He loves still.
Thank you Father for taking me back every time I put You behind other things in my life.
