Texas Roadhouse

This past weekend I had the joy of spending it all with my amazing family. We celebrated my dad and brother's birthdays. By celbrate I mean the guys put on a garage door, and us ladies enjoyed a bit of shopping. But just so you don't think we left the guys out, they did join in the shopping fun when they were done. And we did get to go to Texas Roadhouse for supper.

Now I think they have great food and a fun atmosphere, but the wait is always ridiculous and the waiters are never really great. But my favorite part is the floors. There aren't many places I know of where you can throw peanut shells on the floor. And so I realized that I could throw peanuts at my brother, awesome. Well, there was an older lady that I sat down beside as we were waiting. And she advised me to hit him in the chest with the peanut, it might be my only chance. How funny. And I told her I would definitely keep throwing peanuts at my brother.

I think the reason I like it so much is it reminds me of a time my family went to a Royals game. I was young, about 5 or so, and not all that interested in baseball. And so I kept myself entertained by stomping on peanut shells. I don't know that my parents have ever eaten as many peanuts in their life as they did at that game.

Noni Fun Fact: My favorite professional sport to watch is football.

a glimpse inside

Today I will share a slight preview of some of my dreams. Literally the dream I had last night, not like big aspirations or anything (sorry to get your hopes up).

I find it odd when people say they have never dreamt in color because I have never dreamt in anything but. My dreams are usually very vivid and combine everything from my day. I can often pinpoint why I have had a particular dream and match the parts to my day. I also usually remember my dreams well.

Last night I had a dream where I walked into a store to find my dad at the counter. He was creating a sheet of stickers just for me. I was so excited. And then I got to create some for myself. It was awesome. When I scrapbook I usually have a perfect sticker in mind for a layout and can never seem to find it, hence my great excitement over this dream.

In another part of the dream I was in a European country and trying to find someone to go eat with. I had a particular person in mind, but couldn't manage to get ahold of them. Also there was an elevator that went really high and I was staying in a really old building.

Noni Fun Fact: I would really like these dreams to come true, especially the sticker one.

thoughts from a tired mind

That is exactly what the following will be. I will say that I do not currently have a tired mind, but when these thoughts first appeared I did.
I thought last night that I would enjoy listening to some Christmas music. (I listened to some today.) And then I wondered why other holidays don't have music. I mean how about CD's dedicated to Thanksgiving? You know stores would play the songs for a month before the big day. I'm thinking topics would include turkeys, thankfulness, food, and football. I'm just sayin.
Have you ever rehydrated a contact? It's weird to me how it can be so brittle and then some moisture makes it all pliable again. Also it gets wrinkley.
Sometimes when I head to bed I have a desire to somersault into it. But then I remember last time I did that I got quite dizzy. And so it is only a fleeting thought and I remember that someone my age shouldn't be doing such things.
Noni Fun Fact: I am seriously excited to be a Quarter.

School Supplies

I have a weakness...okay, maybe several weaknesses. But one in particular I would like to share with you today: school supplies. I love me some school supplies. Getting a new notebook, all the pages blank, just waiting for me to fill them with all kinds of learning. Or the amazing way a new gel pen glides so smoothly over the otherwise blank paper. Or putting extra lead in a new mechanical pencil because the eraser still comes out since it hasn't been used. Or filling a new backpack with everything needed for the first day of school. So satisfying.

I was that kid. The one who got excited for school to start every year. The one who loved to go school supply shopping. The one who got the matching pens and pencils. The one who picked out a backpack based on the number of pockets. The one who still wants to buy new school supplies even though I haven't been in school for two years.

And so as I go to Wal-Mart or Target I fight the temptation to buy a new package of pens or a notebook or some pencils or a new backpack. But I fear I cannot keep fighting this urge for school supplies that I don't I need.

But maybe there's a solution: Go back to school. Now that's just crazy thinking. I think it'd be cheaper to just buy a new a pen every once in a while.

Noni Fun Fact: I carry at least 5 writing utensils in my purse at any given time.
