Resurrection Day

As I was driving home from family festivities today (which included some amazing carrot cake and hunting eggs and great laughter) I heard the radio dj call today Resurrection Day. And I thought how appropriate. I mean Easter sounds nice and all, but doesn't make me think of the real reason for the holiday automatically, what with all the eggs and bunnies and chocolate. So I think I'm gonna start calling Easter, Resurrection Day.

It also got me thinking about the people who don't know the true meaning of Easter, who only know the commercialization of it. I can't imagine living in such a hopeless state and am thankful to know the Truth. And yet I can so easily push the Truth aside in my own selfishness, but thankfully that doesn't change the Truth.

I also thought of my favorite verse from the Bible: For He is not here, He is risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay. Matthew 28:6.
This is the whole basis of Love, of Truth, of Life. Wow.

Also I was quite honored this weekend. Before this happened I hade never really thought of it as an honor, but we were getting ready to eat supper on Saturday night and Grandy asked me to pray. Now usually he prays or asks my dad or one of my uncles, so you can see why I was a little surprised but very honored. Very cool.

Today is not about me, so no Noni Fun Fact.

city lights

When it's rainy, as it has been the last day, I feel like I'm in a big city. I think it's because all the lights reflecting on the road, makes everything seem bigger. The stop lights are reflecting and the car lights are reflecting. Just makes me feel cityish. Doesn't matter if I'm in Clay Center or Manhattan or Topeka or Kansas City or McPherson or any other place, just makes me feel like there are a lot of people when the weather is dreary. And I like it.

Noni Fun Fact: I don't like umbrellas, I prefer something with a hood.

name tags, what's the date, and the missing sock

I've been told I haven't blogged in awhile and so for all my fans out there I will give you some thoughts.

The first is on name tags. At work I wear a name tag that reads Noni, also I think it says something about the business office or patient accounts or billing, I'm not really sure what is under the Noni part. But I am certain on the Noni part. Moving on...I have found that when I wear a shirt outside of work that I regularly wear to work, I find myself hitting myself where my name tag would be just to made sure I'm not wearing it. I think this stems from going to places during lunch or right after work and forgetting to take my name tag off. I mean I don't need to announce to the whole world my name, if they wanna know it they can ask.

Also I have found I am often thinking it is the next day instead of today. For example today is the 12th and all day I've felt it's the 13th. I'm attributing this to the reminder calls where I say tomorrows date more than todays. Fortunately this hasn't caused any problems for me...yet.

And lastly I present some thoughts on the missing sock. I was folding some laundry this evening and found only one sock in a pair. How is it I always lose one of my favorite socks? I had a pair with a ships steering wheel on it, loved them and I only have one left. I always hope I just accidently folded it into something else and it will appear later.

Noni Fun Fact: I like to wear fun socks that match my shirts.

this and that

My blog is lacking in posts this month, mostly due to an inactivity of stuff happening. And to be quite truthful I am ok with this. Last month was eventful enough for two, so I'll take it.

It is Friday night and I am having an enjoyable evening of laundry. Ok, that has to be an oxymoron, enjoyable and laundry. But I am watching The Office so that makes it tolerable. And I also have to be thankful I don't and never have had to do laundry by hand. So I'll have a positive attitude about it.

Also today I have had several hardcore sneezes, I must thank the changing and rechanging of the seasons for this. By this I mean I am wearing shorts one day and the next I have to get out my winter coat. Now personally I prefer the cooler weather for several reasons, but if it has to get warmer I wish it would just do it. My allergies would appreciate it.

Noni Fun Fact: I really like slushes.
