Jesus. Just Jesus.

That was the point of Brian's sermon this morning. The message of the gospel, the love of God is Jesus. God in human form to pay the ultimate sacrifice. This really hit me this morning, the freedom this brings. There is nothing I can do, should do, or will ever be able to do that can affect my salvation apart from accepting the free gift of love from God. It never has been or ever will be Jesus plus anything. Just Jesus.
As I'm reading through the Bible this year, I'm currently in the book of Leviticus and it's all about sacrifices. Making the right offering for the right purpose, and making sure it's offered correctly. So many rules for the Old Testament people to follow. And now I don't have to worry about any of that because of the blood of the Lamb. How thankful I should be for that.

So today I am thankful for the freedom Jesus brought to me. Freedom from this world, freedom from sin, freedom from my actions, and all because of love.

    I wonder why there are not like buttons on blogs... I would like that... lol. Isn't it funny how our silly human brains don't GET some things, even when we have heard them and have KNOWN them our whole lives... I am glad that you had this revelation. Hope it sticks :-) God bless!
