So because I do not have internet access at my home my updates will be more broad and somewhat random as they will be posted whenever possible. So here's the first.
Also there will be a fun Noni Fact at the end of each post.
I know it’s the beginning of the year and the expected post is one about how the past year has been for me and all that has happened, but I have something I would rather type about…an oil change.
A week or so ago I had a day off and my car needed its oil changed, so I took it to Wal-Mart, because it’s convenient and affordable. They told me it would be about an hour, so I aimlessly wandered the store after picking up the few things I needed and went back to check on my car. They told me it wasn’t done yet, so I waited another 15 minutes and went back. Still not done, I asked how much longer they thought it would be and they said they hadn’t even started. At this point I was upset as they could have told me in the beginning it would be at least two hours and it would have been ok, even if they would have told me the first time I checked. But no, none of that. So I told them just to give me my key and left, no oil change to be had that day.
I told my dad and he got me an appointment with Green Team in Clay Center. Then they realized they would be closed the day the initial appointment was for. I talked with them and they said they could do it whenever was convenient for me and detail it for free for my inconvenience. So I made the appointment for when I would be in town. Dropped off my car for the oil change, went about my business for an hour. When I went back and tried to pay they wouldn’t let me. They had even rotated my tires. Now this is service.
And what I learned from this…People in small towns just care more. Plain and simple it is nice to be more than just a number. And I know exactly where my car will go the next the oil needs changing.
I had a new experience the other night. I was at Olive garden with some good friends, and we were having a good time and I was eating ice. And then I laughed and swallowed a piece of ice whole. It was such an odd feeling. I could feel the ice melting but at the same time it was stuck. Let’s just say that’s not something I plan to do again.
Yesterday morning my alarm didn’t go off. Woke up 45 minutes later than normal and still managed to squeak into work on time. Now I’m thinking it didn’t go off, but I was having a very vivid dream, and I seem to remember some music in it, so there is a slight possibility that I just thought it was part of my dream. So a good day, got a little extra sleep, although surprisingly I was more tired throughout the day. Just doesn’t make sense.
Noni Fun Fact: Peanutbutter M&M’s are my favorite kind of M&M’s.
